Current Vacancy: Software Developer ( £17-25k, dependent on experience)

The Software Developer position is required to support current and future server side projects and deployments; with a view to extending capability to mobile application development. The main areas for development work are in publishing applications, targeted to small screen devices. The successful candidate will secure a role in a young, growing business, one that has a loyal customer base and many growth opportunities. The position is anticipated to develop with the company, and therefore has individual development potential as the business grows. Coding for mobile application platforms is an intended medium term career progression for the successful applicant.

Practical knowledge and experience of web coding is required (HTML, CSS and publishing frameworks). Any practical working knowledge of coding for mobile application platforms is desirable (Java Mobile, Objective C, Android). Practical working knowledge of iPhone and related coding is highly desirable Knowledge of standard software algorithms (e.g. Quicksort) is desirable Practical knowledge of Linux distributions, Apache, MySQL is advantageous but not essential to the role

Any knowledge of the following would be beneficial:
Code optimisation
Image manipulation
PHP
J2EE

The successful candidate will be capable of demonstrating web development skills and have an interest in participating in the mobile publishing revolution. The candidate will be flexible, adaptable, willing to embrace change, undaunted by changes to market demands or specifications. The ability to work with an extended, distributed team is important. Self-motivation and determination to meet deadlines is important. Willingness to learn and apply new techniques is desirable.
